Madalsa Sharma Chakraborty speaks about the love she is receiving for her role of Kavya in the show, Anupamaa. She plays the second woman in Sudhanshu Pandey's life but surprisingly her character is far from the stereotype
In the history of storytelling, more than often, the character of a second wife is always viewed as a negative, manipulative woman who wreaks havoc in the marriage of a couple. However, actor Madalsa Sharma Chakraborty redefined that with her portrayal of Kavya in producer Rajan Shahi’s show Anupamaa. The audience too, welcomed this character with lots of love. Being able to break the stereotype of a character is not an easy task but Madalsa has done a fair job at it.
Talking about it Madalsa told us exclusively, "The stereotypical hatred didn’t come Kavya’s way because all her actions and reactions are well justified in the show. Kavya’s character is real, she is a strong and independent woman. In situations, every time you see Kavya reacting in a way that is completely different from what the audience expects. That’s because she is a very positive soul. She’s the one who encourages Anupamaa to do the right thing and she can’t even stand Vanraj insulting Anupamaa. Kavya reacts as per situations and I’m very happy that people are seeing Kavya as who she is. That’s the reason the audience is able to relate and see Kavya the way she is." The positivity of her character is an extended part of her personal being, says Madalsa. "I feel Kavya is a reflection of me in more ways than one. She is strong-willed yet vulnerable. She is ambitious yet she believes in family values. She stands for what is right and knows when something is wrong. That is why

I also share the same beautiful relationship with my family and parents the way Rajan sir portrays them in his shows,” says Madalsa, who is married to actor Mimoh Chakraborty in real life.
